“The two-dimensional bracket in the M.B.T. prescription aims to facilitate the treatment mechanics, especially in Class II cases. The .018″ Slot in the upper incisors allows total control of the torques on the .018″X.025″ rectangular wire, at the same time as facilitates posterior sliding in space closure mechanics as there is less friction in the .022″ Slots. In the lower arch, it was decided to keep all the .022″ Slots, as the larger caliber wires, such as the .020″ and round rectangular .019″X.025″, are too important for the complete flattening of the curve of Spee, one of the essential requirements to reach an ideal occlusion at the end of the treatment.”
